![]() On Tuesday, June 17th RELENTLESS CHARTERS had on board six anglers who were on a shared (open boat) charter fishing for cod and haddock. Capt Dave and Gilles met them on the dock, helped stow gear and coolers and told them the days plan. Fishing on board were Ritchie D and Paul Schrader of Long Island, NY, Bob Burger and Jay Cirillo of CT, local angler Lenny Talalis of Kingston, MA and finally Harold Morrow of Florida. All have fished on board RELENTLESS in the past including on private charters with Paul and Ritchie for over ten years. After the introduction we headed to the east and after a two hour ride on a real nice morning with little wind, nice sunrise and warm temperatures we arrived at the spot I wanted to fish for the day. On the way out Gilles tied multiple rigs to be ready for the day, had rods broken out and hooks baited for the first drop.
The first drop provided a few cod fish and haddock however the tide was running a bit and we decided to anchor up to bring fish to the boat instead of the boat to the fish. Ritchie D below with a nice morning codfish he landed on RELENTLESS ![]() After anchoring up for the day it was constant action with the guys landing excellent numbers of cod and haddock, a single pollock by Lenny, two cusk by Jay and everyone doing their part to fill the fish box. All of the fish were landed on clams and as soon as they came over the rail, each one was bled and iced down prior to Gilles filleting the day’s catch. Jay Cirillo of CT with one of the two cusk he landed on this trip ![]() Chef Paul of Long Island displays one of his haddock he landed on board RELENTLESS on this trip using fresh sea clams ![]() It was an excellent day for everyone aboard with rods consistently bending and the dogfish not being too much of a problem. Bob Burger who fished just three weeks ago is back at it again with a market sized cod he hooked ![]() Lenny the Jokester with a large pollock ![]() It was certainly a pleasure having Harold aboard again who is a former NFL running back who played mainly with the Vikings and did a stint with the Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals. He had a ball reeling in the fish and also fishes heavily in Florida and the Bahamas. Harold with his first haddock he ever landed ![]() I want to thank each of the guys for fishing with us again and it looks like we will see some them soon again including Harold who wants to try tackling a tuna fish off of Stellwagen Bank in August. RELENTLESS CHARTERS has some open dates still in June including Friday the 28th and Sunday the 30th if anyone is looking to get out for either groundfish or tuna. We also have the opportunity to run a combination trip also. There are plenty of good dates still available in July for those wishing to fish next month. All of these fish were landed yesterday which is proof that you don't need to be here in April to go fishing for cod and haddock. Give us a call or send an email to captdave@relentlesscharters.com to inquire about a trip. Thank you for taking the time to read this factual report and have a good day. Respectfully, Capt Dave
