Ladies Invitational Bluefish Tornament

The 29th annual LIBT tournament was held this past weekend in S. Jersey. I was proud to have been a part of it as the proceeds go to a great cause. check out the website, Fishlibt.com

We were all excited for Saturday but unfortunately we were blown out due to a small craft warning but were able to fish on Sunday. By the way, this is a trolling only tournament.

We headed towards the AC ridge with trolling 6 rods. We trolled for 8 hrs and NOTHING!! Not even one bite!

Later at the banquet it was announced that out of the 28 boats that participated there was not one bluefish caught!! It was the first time in the history of the LIBT that this has happened.

As we are sitting at the table talking, Russ pulls up some fishing reports from N. Jersey and told us that a lot of big blues were caught up north.....of course all the blues were up there because not a single one was where we were!!

So, the LIBT committee made the announcement that there would be a random drawing to award the top 10 prizes. As it turned out our boat received 3rd prize!! 3rd prize for the heaviest bluefish!!!! We could only laugh about it!!

All in all it was a beautiful day on the water and our Captain and mate were great! It was a fun day after all!!
