Default Shark river exploring monday

Well the plan was to try the OE for seabass but with barely anyone in the marina that didnt happen. Chatted with bobby, mikey, and jeff for a bit when I realized I had all my gulp and a couple light spinners stowed in my car, my in case of emergency rods. Mikey handed me a handful of 1/4-3/8 oz jigheads and I was off! The day was saved and just another example of why the guys on the OE are the best, not to mention the coupon I got for my next trip. Even asked me if I needed a net or a board to measure fish, but I actually had each in my car also.

Well to the fishing. First cast, bluefish which quickly chewed me off. Oh well. First fluke 20 min later was a fat 21" keeper. Picked a few more fish on the lassssttttt of the outgoing then it slowed down. Bumped around here there everywhere, toward the ocean way in the back. Bite was decent on the outgoing but slow on the incoming, and also slow for me closer to the ocean, which I figured. Think it got picked pretty damn clean over the weekend. Also o.e skate and one DELICIOUS robin. Total maybe 9 fluke with one keeper, one robin, one skate, and a lost blue...but a great day on the water. No pics, filleted the fish then remembered. Thanks again to the guys from the OE.

Charter next week with capt kris on fish stix for some cows but was nice to get started on the flattys. And when I ate dinner tonight I remembered, I dont like fluke that much. See ya on the water.

-Drew

Always have the beard, it just changes lengths depending on the season haha. I was out on a rental. Been out a few times on the OE and mimi since then, but it was nice to make my own report
