Default Saturday Stripers

well it finally happened....it broke wide open for the dirty shrimp today!

After loading up at atlantic highlands bait and tackle it was off to the same spot in the back that I have been fishing. Went with my friend ben, who never caught a striper before. Well I broke his cherry with a limit and two very nice keepers lost boatside (next time I bring a bigger net)! I dropped one or two nice fish, and we both caught at least 15 shorts a piece! I expected a crap day because of all the rain on friday, but I guess I was wrong! I love going in with low expectations and having a great day!

I think I'm getting the hang of this! Can't wait for the next trip!

Nice quality back bay fish there Steve! Nice job! How are filets nice and clean like an ocean fish or a little dark like a local that's been in the mud for a few weeks?

Stripers don't go in the mud. Filets from the back are just as white as filets from the ocean.
