had an epic crappie bite going on yesterday evening at Farrington. 54 fish in just over an hour, mostly small ones though. It was one on almost every cast the entire time.
For opening day today i had no interest in getting up early to fish shoulder to shoulder with a bunch of clowns just for some stockies, so i waited till the crowd died down around noon. went to 3 spots and only managed 2 fish that werent even 9"..
Me and the gf went out later this afternoon for some cats. Not a nibble until around the last half hour of sunset. we both got a handful of bullheads and right before we left, big mr. channel cat came along
my first of the year, a real drag screamer too.
