2 stroke compression ?
I have a couple of questions , I could use answers to if anyone wants to help, ok first my compression on rb top is 72 ,mid is 72 ,bot is 79 left bank is 70 across the board . Tested on cold engine, the hose on the compression gauge is 24 inches long. If the hose was shorter would the psi go up and being it is long and the psi on cylinders being aligned close within 10 psi is it good?

Re: 2 stroke compression ?
Not sure what the reccomended spec is on your engine, but if it's within that spec and your compression is within 10 lbs on all cylinders you should be good to go.
Not sure, but I don't think the length of the hose should have any effect on the readings.

Re: 2 stroke compression ?
It's not the length that counts. It's the girth

Re: 2 stroke compression ?
Gerry I think I might have found the answer to my questions and wanted to let you know , just in case . I tested it without the throttle being advanced to wot while cranking the engine , goring to try to open throttle when I crank and see if my psi goes up . The specs should be in the nineties , but I'm only in the seventies . I'll let u know for your own info and knowledge. Thanks

Re: 2 stroke compression ?
Hose length makes no difference for pressure assuming no leaks.
Flow would be slower. But you have no flow in compression checker. Flow in a compression checker is a leak. Quote:

Re: 2 stroke compression ?
Compression does not change with speed (RPM).
It does change with engine heat when things expand. Quote:

Re: 2 stroke compression ?
And as pointed out, compression in not exactly the same. All withing 10 psi is the rule of thumb.
