![]() Hit the river for another quickie lunchtime fishing break. Decided to use a lighter rod with 6 pound mono, and I was throwing 5 inch Senkos. I fished the far bank from where I was, and that stretchy mono took its toll. I caught one largemouth that was about 2-2½ pounds, and had two more come off while jumping. Just couldn't get a good hook-set I guess.
Had something else attacking my worm while retrieving it mid-river. Went after it two different times as I was kind of skating the worm across the surface, then finally took it for a few seconds, then let it go. I think it was a pike, but can't be sure. Worm wasn't bit off or anything, it just let it go. Anyway, it was a nice way to spend 40 minutes. |

![]() I see you're from Lodi. I work at Felician College. What area of the river do you usually fish? I'm out there 3-5 times a week, weather permitting.

![]() I work in Pine Brook, so it's this upper area of the river that I fish on my lunch breaks.
I do enjoy fishing that stretch just below the Dundee Dam though. I want to try that with the fly rod sometime. |
