Default The "Big D" 10/7

Took Chris_JC out for his "bachelor party" with brother Brian and Capt. Dieter. We fished north of Lamertville in the cold and damp, putting together a respectable catch of smallies, stripers to 18 inches, a chunky channel and a fat eel. Thought the 20 degree drop from Saturday was gonna hurt our chances, but we made a decent showing. Water level was on par for the fall, visibility was 4 feet and don't have a temp. Always a good time with the brothers and Capt. Dieter. Thanks Dieter and Congrats to Chris!!!

Nice catch. Variety is always a good thing on the river.

Nice mixed bag, always a good time. Looks like real striper, not hybrids? How far up the D can u find the true stripes?

I've caught shorties as far up as above 22 bridge in Easton.

As far up as Narrowsburg NY. They catch em up to 30 lbs at the bridge. Also I ice fish there sometimes and jig walleye up out of 90 feet of water. 100% Striper, they live in the BIG D!

Jimmy, ditto what PAMonger and Eddie said. Stripers come up through the Delaware Bay to spawn in the Big D in the spring and their offspring reside there for a few years before making their way out.. There are many more BIG fish in the Big D in the Spring, but there is no doubt that some hefty fish hang around all year.
