![]() Got the next two days off and looking to take the boat out. It's a 16 foot deep V, 25HP, plus dual trolling motors for the electric only locations so I need a launch.
Any recommendations on what's hot right now? Have heard good things about Hopatcong but wouldn't know where to start.....never been there. Any info would be great. Thanks, Ken |

![]() spruce run is low and sucks right now, was there 2 weeks ago, thermocline at 11 feet fishing was bad just 2 dink smallies all evening into the night. Hopatcong can be good but u gotta know the lake, if you never been I wouldnt bother. Best bet is electric only lake what area u live in? Bass is still hot depends on how u like to fish. Most weedy lakes will have u flippin/pitchin into the thick stuff or worm/jiggin. Only places I know that u can use a 25HP is budd lake, cranberry lake, greenwood, hopatcong, pompton, muskanetcong, everything else is 9.9 or electric only. If you decide to hit hopatcong fish any prominent points w some live herring w a slip sinker rig 10-15 feet down or live line or both. Thats the best bet if you dont know the lake, the traffic is light this time of year especially weekdays......
