Default NY Bassin'

Visiting my grandparents in staten island, took a walk down the street to a nice park lake. looked dirty and the wind was bad. tossed out a sluggo..nothing. switched to a black/red buzzbait, bingo. got 2 bass within 15 minutes. had a group of about 20 orthodox Jewish kids from some camp run over to me from 200 ft away screaming HE CAUGHT A FISH once i hooked the first one, lol, they crowded around me and asked me all sorts of things about it . eventually they went their own way and i made my way down the shoreline but the bite turned off. used texas rigged worms and senkos for a while, not a hit. tied the same buzzbait back on and fished the opposite shoreline and it was game on again. casting near shoreline structure picked off 4 more, nothing over 2 lbs but pretty chunky. between today and yesterday, overcast skies seem to make all the difference.
