Default Hopatcong 5/12...new personal best Hybrid.

Hit up Hopatcong for a night time trip last night. Got on the water around 10pm and hit a few productive spots. Had no action until about 1am, where I hooked up with this guy. Fought like a beast like all Hybrids do . Got him in the boat and onto the scale. Weighed 7lbs0oz and measured 25". Not the 10lb monster I've been wanting, but my new personal best Hybrid. Hooked up with and lost 2 more throughout the night and got off the water before sunrise. Great weather out on the lake but tons of other boats out there as well.

A couple pictures...

Thanks Eddie! We were fishing mostly in Byram and Henderson. Watched a guy fishing from the dock at Dow's catch a keeper Walleye while we were picking up our herring. Mostly fishing boats but a few yahoo's with their V8-powered boats flying around too.

Were you guys using bait or plugs.

I fished Sat night.. got 7 hybrids all on plugs... up to 6 pds..

They dont go to 10lbs in my lake.. Biggest you will see is 8.

We were live lining herring. What lake were you at Michael? I've heard Hybrids are pretty picky when it comes to lures.

Nice Fish....Love catching those guys. Great fighters.

Spruce Run has a good Hybrid population if you've never tried there. With the 9.9 limit it cuts down on the traffic...especially at night.

Spruce Run is on my short list of places to hit very soon. For as big of a reservoir that it is, you really don't see too many reports out of there.
