Default anchor question

ive seen on alot of (wreck) anchors, that there is a second attachment point on the bottom of the anchor, and at the top the chain is secured by a zip tie or something similar................i thought the idea of the wreck anchor was to be able to pull the tines strait? or do i need to attach mine from two positions?
do the zip ties real hold the weight of the boat?

Badfish,

It is a lot easier to do the reverse hook on the wreck anchor. Attach the chain to that bottom eye, then runn the chain along the anchor shank and zip tie to that top eye.

Will it hold absolutly yes, in fact a couple times I have had it hold so well it does not pop out on the first couple pulls. When it does pop the anchor gets pulled from the bottom and flips right out.

And yes the re-bar wreck anchors are made for the tines to bend if caught and then rebent to shape.

Hope this helps

You should also carry a anchor ball retrieval system, if stuck most instances you will be able to float anchor free with the ball.
