Round Valley night rainbows 6/19:
Maddhatterr and I launched around 8:30pm and got double anchored in 45ft. of water just in time to watch the sun go down. I put my underwater light down and had baitfish around the boat most of the night (herring?)
First rainbow came around 10pm, a fat 17"er. A little while later Hatterr connected with a nice rainbow, this one had shoulders. Got the fish into the net, it did a wild flip, hook pulled and he was gone, this one was closer to 20" ! Both trout were caught on Velveeta. We hung out till around midnight and had no other hits so we headed in. Very nice night on the lake, no wind, no boats. |

It was a great night out on the water....think we might have been the only boat on the water....was amazed to see huge schools of small bait around the boat and all the grass shrip around the light in the water...look forward to doin it again soon!
