Default Problem maintaining gas hose pressure

Have a 95 90 hp Mariner. Having trouble maintaining pressure in my fuel line. Replaced hose and bulb and new female connector at engine. Run it in the driveway today at idle and bulb would go soft and engine stall out. Deceided to try removing the hose at the engine and the bulb is staying hard after like 4 hours. So thinking it must be a problem somewhere in the fuel system of the engine. Its a 3 cylinder, 3 carburator setup. Not good doing anything except changing lower unit oil and plugs. Any suggestions or do I need to just get a mechanic involved. Do not want to go out and have problems. Thanks..... Walt

Hey Boilermaker,
Thanks for the response. Called Rob at Extreme Marine in South River and took the boat down to him to check it out. Want to be out on the water without any known problems. Always check that enveything is working before each trip. If something goes wrong out on the water at least its something I not worrying about the whole trip...... Walt

If you are running from a fuel tank onboard, first thing I would do is run it off a portable tank to see if the problem is in the tank and or inline filter.

If it runs fine I would replace the filter and if that is not it you might have a stuck check valve coming out of your tank. It's a common problem that restricts the flow of fuel from the tank.

Also chek the screen in your gas tank vent... if it clogs up you will have problems.

Rob at E/M is good people, he should take care of it.
