Only 24 short days remain till the march on D.C.

Capt.TB wrote on January 24 that no more than half of one bus filled at any location. If you have been waiting to sign up, do it now. It isn't fair to Tony that he be bombarded the final week. After all, he is doing this in his spare time.

If you have been putting it off, there is no time like the present. Get your ticket now. Get one for your buddy as well.

As a side note; there has been several things written with regards to t shirts. While it might make for a nice memento of the day. My guess is that the 24th. of February will be pretty damn cold. More like parkas and a lot of under garments. Unlikely, even the largest t shirt would be worn over all that cold weather clothing.

I'm curious as to what or where we are at regarding signs, buttons, stickers, fliers or the like? I read something about the enviros having red baloons. Due to the fact that we are coming from all over the U.S. I would hope that we all have at least one item in common. T shirt, sticker, button or whatever.
We need to stand out just as much as the enviros. Labor usually brings the blow up rat, which was the subject of a couple of banning lawsuits. (lots of press coverage) Maybe we could bring a mock coffin with the wording on the side "here lies the costal fisherman". Another effective tool I've seen sucessfully used is the Grand greenback. The grand greenback looks like real U.S. currency when folded lying on the ground. Nobody ever walks by without picking it up. When they open it up it has the message on the inside. In our case, revise Magnusson Stevens act, protect our fishing rights.

Economy should be the message conveyed to congress. I have seen many figures bandied about as to the impact of fisheries shutdown. Money is what talks in D.C.

We have to clearly state our message and stand out from the rest. But, again numbers will be our best tool in the box. Get off the fence, we are all in this! Get on board today!

Pete, while my T-shirt supplier crapped out on me, he did say he would cover the cost of a couple signs or banners. He gave me an address of a printer to go to, so I will stop by there tomorrow with John Devin's design and see what he can do.

I am thinking more of 1'X2' signs on poster paper that maybe we can string up (mono or braid?) and wear like one of those old sandwich boards?

I Have Bought My Ticket Already For The Atlantic Highlands Bus And I Own A Sign Shop And A Shirt Printing Shop

I Have Offered My Services Several Times ( I Even Sent Capt Tony, Capt Ron, And Hand Delivered Some Signs To The Belmar Boats All As An Effort To Start This Thing And Raise Awareness As I Over Heard Many Angry Blackfisherman Complaining About The Regulation And Had No Idea A March Was Even Happening ) In This Tough Economy There Is No Way I Can Print Mass Amounts Of Shirts And Signs For Free But I Can Do It At Cost Of Making Them As We Do Both In House And/or Donating Any Extra Made Back To The Cause

I Know I Am New To This Site ( I Am Actually In Talks With Gerry About Being A Sponsor) But Its The Least I Can Offer With What Resources I Have I Originally Joined This Site After Chris, Robby And Capt Ron Kept Talking About It After Some Striper Trips And In The Past Months I Have Read And Learned A Lot Here But We Need To Agree On Some Things Now Since The Buses Are Lined Up Already Signs, Shirts, Buttoms Costumes, Ect...... ( I Also Thought Of Printing Inexpensive Hand Towels That We Can Hold And Wave, Then When We Win This Thing Use Them As We Fish In The Years To Come) These Things Should Be Figured Out So We Look Professional While On The Biggest Protest Stage In The U.s.


P.s. A Shirt Would Be Nice As We Can All Wear Them This Year To Show Everyone the effort that We Made

just had an idea
one of my clothing distributors offers rain ponchos that we can print on i think they are very cheap i will look into that tomorrow when i get to the shop it can serve at least 3 purposes big enough to wear over the clothing we wear to keep warm, protect us all if it is bad raining weather as i dont see a rain date, and one up the red dye balloon throwing anti-fishing protesters that we may encounter

Shirtguy Thank you for being willing to donate your time and efforts to this.

I think just for ease a towel or poncho is a better idea than t-shirts since it is kind of one size fits all type thing. T-shirts you will have to collect sizes make list. with the other two options you just need a number count. I like the towel personally.

We could be like the steeler fans with the terrible towels, plus everyone could hold it up as there personal poster.

Let me know if there is anyway I could help. I will be on the AH bus also.

In addition handing out towels is easier when we get to washington than sorting through sizes.
