Sunday 8/22 Report
While some areas of NJ received torrential rains over night and during the day, here in northern Ocean County we had some overnight rain (maybe 1 inch total & that’s a big maybe) and some light rain in the morning before 8. Not even any wind. Just cloudy with scattered sun & humid. Around 12:30 Jason & I decided to take the boat out and fish the upper bay & river. I had passed over the Mantaloking Bridge earlier in the morning and the bay was flat. First few spots in the upper bay were covered with blowfish and would tear apart our soft plastics every cast. Moved to the river and I was shortly rewarded with a fat 20 inch fluke. After a few more drifts in that area without any further action we moved down river and were once again covered up with both blowfish and snapper bites. On the way back, we made a few drifts under the Mantaloking Bridge but caked up empty.
