Question Dolphins and fishing?

I was out in the ocean catching some nice size Fluke yesterday and the action was hot! Then a large pod of Dolphins came by fairly close to us and it seemed like the Fluke then got a case of lockjaw. Has anybody else have this happened and what are your thoughts? Was it just coincidence or does this happen often? Thanks and Tight Lines!

Cant speak to being on a boat, but on the surf I normally know it’s not going to be a productive day if flipper and friends are around.

Kind of makes sense and found this article and sounds like to do have an appetite for flat fish.

Seals do as well and we seem to see more and more of the each winter https://www.google.com/search?q=do+s...client=gws-wiz

Kinda forgot that on my Sandy Hook fishing Thursday, I did see a small pod of Dolphins but way offshore and it did not stop the fish from biting...

I have definitely seen a hot blackfish bite stopped by a big pod of dolphins. 15 mins after they left, bite fired right back up.

Dolphins are voracious eaters and will eat striped bass and bluefish and any other fish that is available. You can't blame fish for not eating when something is trying to eat them.
