Default striper report

sorry for the late report. launched wednesday to perfect condtions for a striper/seabass/fluke (yeah, maybe a little too ambitious) trip out with some old childhood buddies. found the fleet out in the raritan and jumped into the mix. first hookup as i was setting the line to troll but came unhooked halfway to boat. lots of action all morning with stripers and some blues and caught the largest striper i've personally ever seen landed at just under 4 feet long. After some hooting/hawing, a quick pic and high fives we quickly got her back in and revived and she swam away strong. i am a happy with the slot limit, felt good to have her back in to replenish the stock and maybe give someone else the chance catch and release her one day too. never made it to seabass territory but did try a little fluking on the way back in the bay and wind picked up so conditions went south quickly without a bite so we called it a day.

how have circle hooks been working for everyone for stripers? though i have used them sometimes in the past they worked better than expected. most fish were hooked/landed without being gut hooked.

sorry for the crappy fish photo but we wanted to get her back in asap. wasn't sure how the day would go after a poor trip last time but now i'm glad we brought this yellow good luck charm...
