![]() Hi everyone, can anyone recommend a spot on the Delaware that has a spot that I can put in and take out? I’m not looking for anyone to spot burn, I’ve researched on-line and a lot of the spots require two people with separate cars. I’m looking for a spot where the current isn’t so strong that I can’t paddle against it.
And if smallmouth are living in the area I won’t complain about that! Please PM me if you’re not comfortable putting it in this thread. Thanks!! |

![]() I’ve put in at the ramp by the campground in the Del Water Gap off old mine road. If you paddle straight across, there’s a nice side channel that you can take up river for a good half mile or probably more. May depend on water levels. Then you can work the river back down. Saw fish though I was more intent on exploring than casting. Did rescue a duck that was tangled in fish line which made the trip even more memorable.

![]() I put my canoe in at Sandts eddy on 611 on the Pa side, you can paddle upstream and work your way back to the ramp.

![]() I live one minute from the Delaware River in Belvidere and if anything the thunderstorms that have hit the area the last couple days have effected the river in a positive way. The river temperature was 85 degrees in Belvidere on Wednesday and now it’s 78 degrees. The level was at 3.98 feet Wednesday and it’s at 4.01 feet today so the only thing the rain did was cool the water down which in my opinion is a positive thing

Yea so far no immediate impact to the water height, but im not aware of how rains affect the big D; might be more dependent on how it rains up the watershed in addition to just NJ. I always check the gages ![]() |

![]() I've wade fished the following stretch, but have always thought about putting a kayak in at the Bulls Island boat ramp (unfortunately now, it is temporarily closed) and floating down river to the Wickecheeoke Creek confluence at Prallsville Mill, Stockton. Portaging a short distance to the D&R Canal, and paddling upstream against the slow current to the canal's canoe / kayak launch area (open) at Bull's Island.

Uber/lyft/ride-services can help out too. You can float down as far as you want as long as you lock up the kayak when take the ride back up ![]() One of those companies should offer kayak transportation tho ![]() |
