![]() Had a couple hours free today and I have been itching to get my new kayak wet so I hit the river to see if some pike wanted to play. I was surprised that the water temp was only 40. I threw streamers with my fly rod and only saw one pike follow the streamer just I as I pulled it out to recast.
Did see a mink and a bald eagle so not a bad few hours. |

![]() pike and pickerel were good today, but only in some spots while the majority of stretches are low action.
I guess once bait starts getting scattered the pike will too? (amateur speculation) |

![]() That's my guess too. I didn't see any bait fish swimming around at all. I thought that maybe they would have moved up into the shallow water to get some warmth from the sun.
