Default Day of Infamy Surf fishing

May those that paid the price for their service on this day 78 years ago always be remembered. I fished northern Ocean county today. Started well before sunrise at the beginning of the ebb and had a bite on my third cast and picked at them till sunrise. I was getting some really small Bass on the teaser and got a couple a little bigger on the plug. When it started getting light I had a seal come up in front of me munching on a Bass, the tide was dropping out and the birds and boats showed up just outside the bar and it was over for me early. I went back there this evening and the birds were still working just out of casting range until it started to get dark and everything moved in on the beach lip. I had Bass busting and peanuts washing up and I was catching like crazy sometimes two at time. I would recommend the light tackle the fish were small but it was good to get on a peanut Bunker bite.

Great to see you were rewarded for the effort you put in this year Brew... You fish all year for a day like you had today and you earned it!

Bruce, very well said. We should never forget the people who paid the ultimate sacrifice or people who continue risking their lives every day in this crazy world we live in so we can enjoy the freedom and lifestyle we do. Not a day should pass taking that for granted.

You had a great day on the surf. Perseverance pays off! Glad everything came together for you. Something special about a successful outing from the surf......awesome report!

Thanks for the kind words and comeback guys. It is a day for thankful reflection for sure. The mini blitz was awesome having them push in right where I was standing. I never had to move.

Caught, tagged and released two striped bass on a small, black plug and teaser at Manasquan tonight on the high tide in the rain. Didn’t see another fisherman.

After not getting a hit in more than two hours last night, I may go duck hunting instead of fishing. Got two ducks today.

That's awesome. Great job! Just that one fish makes it all worth while.
