Default Added Sea Bass Days?????

So do you think the state will extend the current sea bass season that will close on the 22nd?

With all this bad weather lately it would only make sense right?

Don't worry I am not holding my breath.

Lol... with the amount of sea bass harvested this spring season, I’m willing to bet the season won’t be nearly as long next year.

You can go to Co-op in Point and buy sea bass 365 days a year.

Your thoughts are correct but doubtful for this year. Effort is down as you stated due to the weather and in general so it would make sense but this is exactly what we fight on a regular basis. If you want to discuss more sign up for my Fluke trip on 06/29 on Capt Ron Fishermen as we need more people like YOU

Amount of sea bass harvested is WELL BELOW what the regulations allow. This is the constant recreational Fishing fight. Regulations were set on 12.5" size and a bag limit of 10 per person in a season length with an approx but known number of anglers so therefore if ALL the known anglers fished every day and caught their limit it should NOT hurt the stock based on the regulations and their data used to set same. Well its obvious that ALL the anglers did NOT fish everyday and very few got out. Those that did got their limit but due to weather and in general effort being down we should not be punished next year. If anything we should be increased. If you want to know more sign up for my Fluke trip on 06/29/19. See the sticky post on top of the saltwater page

For the first time in 11 years on this site I dont understand an Andy S post above. Are you advocating commercial fishing only and suggesting recreationals stop fishing for sea bass
