Default Keyport Seahawk - Albie Mayhem Round 2

We ignored the scattered birds and boat traffic in the morning and headed out to find seabass...it took us a bunch of spots to finally find a decent bite. it was drop and reel fishing in 35-40' but mostly short seabass and very nice sized porgie.

At one point i saw what looked like giant albies side fining by us with some bait and birds (i'm assuming it was a school of bluefin) and at another time i heard a giant tale slosh and turned around thinking i was going to see a whale's tail but instead saw a looooong thresher shark tail slapping through the water.

We picked through the seabass and managed 21 keepers between the 3 of us (not that great, all 12.5-13"). We tried for tog a few times but only managed 4 shorts. We got boarded late in the afternoon by fish and game. They checked our fish and sent us on our way.

Headed in super late, and got the special reward of the largest blitz of birds and albies i've every seen with very little boat pressure on them! we couldn't resist, even though John knew the berating he was going to get from his wife being back so late hahaha.

We spent the next hour tripling up on albies trying to avoid each other fighting them. just pure anarchy and fun. we even had a few small bonita in the mix and not one dumb ass boat running over the schools we landed 4 each and lost a few others in the mayhem. truely a blast and we got some go-pro footage so hopefully i can compile a cool video in a few weeks
