Raritan river Ganesh pull- 9/15-16/18:

This will go on for about another week. Had no problem finding Ganesh idols in the river near Johnson Park in Piscataway.
Along with limes, coconuts, flowers, bamboo and other creative offerings.

After some research online, it looks like there are ganeshs that actually are non-toxic and breakup in the water. It looks like those painted ones aren't the ones in mind.

9/17/18: Not a bad 2 day haul from the Raritan river in Piscataway . More idols were going in as I was leaving, hard to keep up sometimes.

Some of those are in ok condition, you could make a few bucks reselling them!

for Religious reasons, Biodegradable or otherwise, it's a violation of the Federal Clean Water Act (illegal to pollute or discharge any item(s) into the waterways of the State). Did you know its illegal to discharge even drinking water into a river, lake or other waterway because drinking water may have been chemically treated with lime, chlorine or fluoride? Equally illegal is discharging non treated warm or cold water into a waterway. Water temperature also has Environmental impacts.

andy you are going to be very busy for eleven days that is how long the festival lasts it started on the 13th of this month so you are going to find a bunch of them. i looked on amazon they go for 25 to 65 dollars a pop. they even have some sort of praide with music and all before sinking them in a river or ocean.
