Default Hudson Info

I am considering a run to the Hudson on Wen afternoon and spend the night on my 25 center. I have all the safety gear I believe I will need. My question is.
Has there been any night chunk activity yet. This will be my first Hudson run. I have been close many time but never all the way. I can carry 250 gallons of fuel. Also. Any experienced persons crazy enough to join me. I am trying to get a 3 man crew together. Sorry but only experienced need apply. The water this weeks looks too good to pass up

It's gettin' to be that time for the chunk bite...they switch from plastic to bait about now. My first trip is in 2 wks(PB). Just wish the H2O temps were a bit lower...didn't see any nice temp breaks so far-pretty flat all over but that doesn't mean a darn thing, sometimes. Tight lines & hope you get your crew---will be waiting your positive report.

I would not go overnight in the hudson in a 25 unless it is 5mph west winds seas 1 to 2 ft or less. We fished on a 43 viking the other night and the wind never laid down over night. Was not the nicest of nights and it was 2-3 ft seas. That being said , a day trip in a 25 is no problem. As of now, no real hot solid chunk bite. Can go about 20 miles short of the hudson and troll up some nice yellowfin that are holding in the area. Good luck.
