Default Sonar recommendations

I would like to spend about $1,500 on sonar. Can anyone make any recommendations on what are the best units?

Default Re: Sonar recommendations

I just purchased the Lowrance HDS9 Gen3. It came as a complete combo for $1,200.00. Fish finder/chart plotter+structure scan and HD sonar imaging. I installed it, but yet had a chance to use it. I looked around for a bit and it made my head spin with all of the options out there.

A lot of people liked the Go 9 Simrads from what I read. Simard is made by Lowrance so I figured I couldn't go to wrong with my purchase.
