Thumbs up Winter Flatties

Just launched the boat, a month late for me. Did a little flounder fishing 20 bucks worth of bait and chum...well worth it. We got a limit of feisty flounder very quickly. There were a lot of smaller fish, but the keepers were 15-17 inches. May be a good sign for the future...caught them on the outside of pp canal. Lots of chum and worms, would not touch clam baits. They are just coming out of the mud, dirty bottoms.

Is there still a public fishing access point on the south side of the canal near barnegat bay? I remember fishing there some point a few years ago but cant seem to find it on google maps.

Glad to hear you got them. We had a slow pick there last week with mixed size fish too. They didn't want the clams or mussels as well got the most bites on Sandworms at the last half of the flood tide. I might give it one more try next week.

Thumbs up Re: Winter Flatties

Great to hear that!

Do you think the powers that be would arbitrarily throw us a bone for at least a third fish, if not four per day? Or are we going to have to drag one out of them like everything else?
