![]() Good to hear, sounds like another great class of fish moving up the river. For anyone who hasn't experienced this fishery, you don't know what you're missing. Another great fishery this state has which shouldn't be taken for granted or overlooked.

![]() That's fantastic, I had no idea those fish come into the Delaware. Just curious, what general area would you have to fish?

![]() Shad will continue moving further north as the run progresses. Lot of online sites that have reports which will give you some indication where the main body of fish are and how far up they've made it. In general I think a good rule of thumb regarding water is look for deep pools immediately following faster moving water. Shad will tend to use these locations as lanes and resting areas on their migration. Look for pools before runs as well as they'll stage at times before running the rapids. Trial and error. Look for cars parked on the side of the river when all else fails, use other guys experience to cut down on the learning curve. If you find an area, maybe an island, that cuts the width of the river with fast moving water and some deeper pools, give that a shot. Again these fish travel probably over 100 miles, they're looking for the path of least resistance. It's an amazing fishery.

![]() They run up the whole the river from the the Delaware bay way up into New York. Go to the part of the Delaware that closest to your house and start looking around there.
