![]() Good to see that people are starting to fish for Winter Flounders again despite the ridiculous regulations. Give it a few weeks and they will be biting good. I am sure you will catch more than 2! Tight Lines!

![]() We got a few up at the northern end of Barnegate Bay.
Saw a few others caught. Slow fishing with heavy chum. Couple more weeks and the blues will have them heading for the inlets |

![]() guys, I would not worry too much about the lack of flounder coming from RB.. even in the years when they were thick as fleas, and catching them on every drop was easy, we never caught them this early there, not in any number anyway.. The big bay usually turns on much later than shark river/ Barnegat... Don't forget you have several big rivers relentlessly dumping fresh ice water into RB... Give it a few more weeks, and some nice sunny 65-70 degree days.. We used to get them there late April into mid May.. early April?, Never that I recall.. that was more a Shark River fishery, as well as Barnegat bay... If they are still there in any numbers they will start biting good when the Stripers are hitting clams well.. Flounder don't like cloudy ice water, they like clear, cool water and sunny days.. They'll hit soon enough but this weather has been fierce, and I have a feeling that they "turn on" and then head out quickly without a very long "season".. When the Blues show up, they are done anyway... bob
