Default Christmas Eve Beast Rainbows

Headed out to do some local trout fishing on Christmas Eve. My waders were very leaking, and my boots were falling apart, but I was determined to get one more trip out of the before Santa brought me new gear. I used an ace bandage to hold my boot together.

Temps were chilly and the water was high but I caught two big rainbows for the effort. It was definitely quality over quantity, with one fish taping 20 inches and the other measuring 24 inches.

Didnt fish for much longer as I was soaked and had lost all feeling in the lower half of my body. Luckily, Santa brought me new waders and boots so I can start the new year off dry.

You certainly know how to find them my friend. Two real beauties, colors are amazing. Great way to ring in the holidays!

Some big ass Bows right there man! Great catch!!!

I flew by this guy on a country road the day he caught these fish. He was practically soaked with wet marks all over his light gray sweats. I just laughed as a flew by! Unreal! The new waders will have a hole in them soon. No worries!!! Lol! They all suck!!!

Great, big, rainbows! Find that leak and smoother it with shoe gloo! I've punctured huge holes in waders from thorns before and covered them up with it. Seams can be tricky tho. Send em to me instead if you throw them out... Im still working on Andy's old pair.

Couple of nice bows.

Wading boots suck, I get like 3 seasons out of them max before they fall apart. Always on the hunt for them when they go on close out, I try to keep a spare pair in waiting just in case so they don't f-up a trip.

Waders are one of those deals that I find I get better wear/tear the more $ I plunk down. I'm fundamentally opposed to paying for a label but having been through a dozen waders over a dozen years, I finally plunked down a couple hundred for Simms (on closeout!). Best think I ever did, I wore them for almost 10 years with one patched puncture (that was completely my fault and happened well away from the river). On pair #2 with pair #1 having been ceded to my son.
