Default Splitrock Smallie

Got out on splitrock on Saturday moring. It was cloudy and cool, felt amazing after this recent weather. Started off throwing around a ned rig and got a rock bass and few 12" smallmouth.. Crazy how high these little guys launch out of the water.

Switched to a gary senko and got rocked on my first cast. Got a big smallie to the net after a strong fight. My PB at 19"

I also added a pic of a monster smallmouth my friend caught while we were fishing the Rockaway River last week. The color difference of these 2 fish is pretty crazy.

Sweet, freakin' people need to know they aren't above the laws of the land. Good job by the officers!

I don't understand what's so freakin' difficult about following the laws!

Saw a CO coming in as we were pulling out. Crazy how much trash is on the hiking trails here. Good to see they are patrolling.

cool photos of those smallmouths. the rockaway river has decent smallmouth if you know where to look and what to throw at them. as for the rock that place is great to catch smallmouth. you did well thank you for your report. the only way to keep splitrock open is to behave ourselves if we do not follow the rules the wardens will make sure we do... glad to hear they are keeping an eye on the place.
