Man if that doesn't bring back memories of the Long Branch pier back in the day nothing does, without of course short sleeve shirts and or pants! And it would be at night as opposed to during the day but 5 or 6 hook rigs, multiple hook ups of ling at whiting at the same time, a fishery that for those of you who didn't have the luxury of experiencing it was for all practical purposes as good as fishing gets! Would love to see those days again but too much politics and commercial pressure. A real shame!

They catch these fish in extremely deep water the reason is not to get so many in a hookup but to go down that deep & loose your bait a long way back without anything with just say 2 hooks. I see many of fisherman who just fish our offshore Sea Bass wreck trips & use the same amount of hooks. I personally don't like using that many hooks I only use 2 the tangles they create are not worth it. But I understand why they use them in those depths. Great pictures Marc I only wished we had that type of fishing over here.

I normally don't don't like more than 2 hooks too, but on those trips I use 3 and that's more than enough. The ling and whiting are so plentiful up there, you can get by with 2 hooks even at over 300ft. Tie the loops about 3 or 4 ft above the sinker for whiting. The whiting were so big, we were using 5/0 hooks 2 weeks ago.

Marc runs these trips almost weekly. Some in NJ, NY, NH OR MASS. But I can tell you some of the best trips I've ever been on have been with Fishark.

Look up his website and it will be worth your time.

One trip: fishpeddler, Leif and I had over 200lbs of filets. Pollack, cod, redfish.
