Default Hard water

A couple friends want to hit the ice on Sunday (depending on the storms outcome) We are coming from central NJ heading north and don't want to waste too much time driving up to find no fishable ice. Anyone willing to share a body of water via private message to avoid the masses showing up? Any help is appreciated.

There's really not much out there dude! Smaller ponds and shallow coves are your best bet! Be safe!

Stop in at a northern local tackle shop for some bait and a small purchase. I'm sure they'll direct you to some fishable ice. Good luck.

This wind and snow will have a profound impact on places that weren't locked up prior to. Be safe out there.

We're getting a lot of snow up here... The weight is going to push the ice underwater and there will be deep snow on top of flooded slush on top of ice you can't see tomorrow... And the ice base wasn't that great to begin with; all the places I've been out on had pockets of open wate here or there. Be careful if you do go out.

I'd go trout fish a river instead. Or sledding.

Yep the lake I fished Friday had 6" where I was fishing then multiple spots of open water, spots of skim ice, spots of 2" ice. None of this you will be able see come Sunday all you will see Is snow so make sure you spud your way everywhere, otherwise stay at home

Thanks all. With all this snow, plans have changed. Perhaps another day! Till then, there is always my local spot with open water!
