Looking to get a bit more depth out of my XRap4 & F3/F5 - at slower speeds. I am curious if anyone has modified these to help them suspend a little deeper and fish a bit slower. I also use the CDs but not always a fan of the sink on pause.
Basically looking to get them to suspend in the 6ft range. Are splits shots my only answer? Appreciate the help Last edited by ratherbe; 11-29-2015 at 01:04 PM.. |

Split shots will mess with the action, and cause the lure to sink instead of suspend. Go with light line (less buoyancy/water resistance) and long casts to get the Xrap to depth. Try adhesive weight strips on the floaters to get them deeper and make them suspend.

Try clip on weights..... 50/50 rule.....ex. Let out 50 ft. Clip on weight.....let on another 50 ft. Cabelas has clip on weight kits.....

As lard said , try the suspend strips....They also make suspend dots, I believe storm makes them....Used to see them in tackle shops but haven't in yrs...Check the storm website....http://www.rapala.com/search?id=4&q=suspend%20dots
