Thumbs up Awesome Day on Stripers in Raritan Bay - 10/25

After talking with a friend who had good action Saturday afternoon, made our way out at first light and soon as we arrived there were bass blowing up on bait on the surface. We were only rigged for trolling so we went on the troll and within minutes we had a double header of nice size stripers (15 lbs and 20 lbs).

We tied on swim shads and crocs and hook ups right away with real nice quality fish, my brother getting a real nice one about 38 lbs. Fish were spread out so we ran over and caught a couple more before more boats showed up and put the fish down so we when on the troll and caught a bunch more all nice 15-20 lb class fish. It was awesome seeing bass crashing bait on the surface and catching them on light tackle.

Bite slowed down and saw some birds working in deeper water and made the run and fish finder had real nice marks and within minutes 4 of us are all hooked up at the same time on nice fish, we each caught 2-3 more on the jigs before it slowed up and went back on the troll to find some more fish.

Ran back to where we had them first thing and picked up couple more on shads and trolling before we called it a day.

Best action was in 25-35 feet of water and chartreuse and white shads worked the best. Best day we have had on stripers in a while with most fish in 15-20 lb range with two biggest at 35 & 38 lbs.

Wind laid down sun came out and nice ride back to the dock.

Catch em up guys, they are here!
