![]() Anyone familiar with keyports municipal boat launch? Do you need a permit? Is it free? Is it safe? Looking to go out of there tomorrow morning. Thanks in advance.

![]() Keyport is fee based. There is a trailer there that you stop at to pay. Don't know the cost.
Biggest problem with that ramp is lack of depth and especially during a low tide. It's not steep. If you're by yourself have a long bow line unless you drive off the trailer. The floating dock is not directly connected to the ramp so you can't walk to it unless you go out of the ramp area, up and over to it. If you don't have any style of structure on the boat and it's just an open boat look you can use Keyport marine basin ramp. It's just up the river from the town ramp. The only reason I stated the boat look is a fixed bridge you'd have to go under. |

![]() What's worth it is to stop by town ramp when you get back in and look around. Watch the guys landing or launching to see what they are dealing with.

![]() The municipal ramp can be a bit challenging at low tide. Muddy off the ramp and rocks to the right. I munged up a prop the first time I used the ramp. Learned to wait for the tide to rise a bit.
From what I remember, the fee is like $20 during the week and $25 on weekends. There's a fair amount of traffic there on weekends, with the usually percentage of boaters that don't have a clue. Can be quite entertaining (enraging?) while you're waiting for the ramp to clear. |
