Cateyes 1/23, 1/25
Been spending alot of time on the ice in recent days, weeks. Hanging with the boys and catching some really nice fish. Ventured out with Mikey Topaz on Friday to do some scouting. We jumped on the ice and got set up by 9 am or so. It was a slow start with a frantic finish. Flags started flying around 1030 and the jigs started getting hit as well. Eyes and Channels were getting pulled through the icy holes in good numbers. Mikey managed 5-6 Eyes on tip ups and a couple jigging, Eyes measured 15-19 inches on average. He also added to the pile with some good tasting Cats up to 29 inches or so. I myself jigged up 2 keeper Eyes, 1st @ 24.5 inches and fat, 2nd @ 18 inches. Got my fair share of Channels as well, 4 or 5 of them in total. The final tally for the day was 10 Cats to 29 inches and 8 Walleye to 24.5 inches. All in a days work. Good times Mikey!!!
YEA BOYEEEE!!! Hit that same area, Sunday 1/25, on my own bright and early thinking I would be lonely all day. Shortly after getting set up I got a call from my homie SkunkCity. He was on his way and ready to get into some action. We got all set up only to find nothing going on in the morning. Not a touch. At 11am the light switch got turned on with Eyes and Channels being the stars of the show once again. Rob managed to pull his "PB" Channel through an icy hole. This fish was 30 inches and fatter than fat, an easy 10lb Cat. Most people wonder why I fish for Kittys, ummmmmmm, they fight like hell year round. My boy also spanked a couple Walleye to go with that PB Cat. Good stuff my brother. I got into a little action myself icing 4 Walleye, 2 shorts, 2 Keepers. 1st keeper was around 18 inches, 2nd keeper came in @ 21-22 inches and chubby. Managed to hook into a couple Cats as well, just couldn't get em through the hole. The first one was foul hooked so I had to stick my hand in the water to detach this 5 lber from my jig. Yep, the Cat was hooked in the center of the stomach, very interesting! Cat number 2 was giving me a really good fight but came unbuttoned, felt pretty big but I never saw it. The show must go on! Little slower than Friday but we still got our fix. Congrats again on the PB Channel Rob. Seriously a thick beast!!! GOOD TIMES YET AGAIN!!! YEA BUDDY!!!!!!!

I'll just say what I said on shanty, you are a freak of nature! It's not even normal to catch fish like that through the ice! Seriously impressive! I might have to join you guys one day to see how you operate and learn a thing or two!
