Thumbs up Raritan river 12/6/14:

In Somerville today, 6 people in 4 hours. Even the folks from the Hack came over to help and said, and I quote "what an awesome river you have here." (the shopping carts are gone in the photo because someone collecting scrap metal pulled over and took them off the pile)

Just AWESOME!!!! I fished the beautiful Raritan yesterday. It's getting cleaner and cleaner every trip I make. Caught and released 3 Brown Trout somewhere in the Manville area. Also snagged a Gizzard Shad in the head, on accident!!!! Then the rains came and I left!

Browns were caught on WORMS!!!!!

I have a question. Why do you take out the bricks? Arnt they like rocks and will break down slowly? or is there chemicals in the that harm the environment??

I didn't touch the bricks, someone else thought they were unsightly so they grabbed them.

Amazing work. The whole Raritan system is a great wonder I've been fascinated in especially since '93 when I moved into the area with who became my wife. It's really good to see others who care about it an active way. And it's cold to be doing it this time of year. Next time you do it during warmer months, get in touch with me, and I hope I can fit volunteering w/you into my schedule. blitton@optimum.net
