Question Suggestions...fishing for 7 yr old daughter

Looking at bringing my daughter and one of her friends for some beach and fishing fun. I just don't know what my best bet is... Are snappers in keyport? Should I take them 1/2 day fluking? Any porgy trips? Looking for any recommendations.
My current thoughts doing a 1/2 day fluke trip and then sandy hook national park for the beach (bay side). Didn't know if their are any better options. Thanks in advance. Looking to come July 12-13. In case anyone else with kids is doing a trip with young ones.

Don't overlook the good old crab trap - cheap, safe & simple. You can have a couple of light rods for snappers in the water too. But my kids and their cousins love pulling up the net and seeing what's in there. The older ones love a hand line. Doesn't matter how big the crab is - in fact the majority of the time we're not even interested in keeping them. They put it in a bucket, watch it scurry around and then throw them back. And you never know what you might pull up - we caught a big eel one year and have also caught small sea bass.

You can do a half day fluke trip on the Gambler too. The mates really took care of my daughter when I took her fishing, and the air conditioned cabin was key when she wanted a break from fishing

Jimmy Lee, there a number of 1/2 day boats right in the Atlantic Highlands. They would put you closest to Sandy Hook Recreation Area to continue their adventure.

Youngsters always seem to have a good time on the Atlantic Star, one of the cleanest family boats in the area. Captain Tom and crew would give them a trip to remember!

A few pictures of our aspiring anglers and one of the Sandy Hook beaches:

Is it common for the Capt to let the kids check out the wheel house? Maybe get a pic of them in the Capts chair?
Could be the deal maker

I have crab nets. She loved doing that in cape may 2 years ago. Where are some places to go crabbing?

I have brought young children on the Atlantic Star and the look on their faces is unbeliveable when they sit in the captain's chair. It's something they will remember for a long time.
