Default Pompton Lake

Too nice out not to go fishing! Heading to Pompton Lake tonight (look for the floating banana... that's me.)

Any quick tips on the lake? I know it's tough to crack, but I might as well get crackin' since I live so close.

Thanks ya'll...

I was there last week with no luck, but its warmed a few degrees since then. I'd fish the shallows on the north end of the lake. Always did well with Crappies on the bobber/jig setup early season there.

I bet you didn't know the 'd' in dboy101 stands for 'dysentery'.

Fished Pompton on my lunch break today. Saw a F&W boat out there. Looked like they just finished setting up or checking the trapnets set up near the mouth of one of the feeder creeks. When I fished there last week it wasn't there.

Skunked again, but only fished for 20 minutes from shore. Saw lots of schooling Yellow Perch cruising the shoreline. They would check out my jig, but were more interested in hitting the barrel swivel than the swimshad .
