![]() Made our second annual trip out of Port Washington, Long Island on a NS for some Blackfish Jiggin on the light spinning tackle. We used 1/2oz-1oz jigs tipped with Asian and green crabs. Got lots of bites and shorts, but the larger Tog didn't really want to commit to the jig. Typically the larger Tog will "run" with the bait and jig....this only occurred on a few occasions...We took home 5 legit keepers, not the "ten pounder" we all hoped would give us the fight of our lives on the light tackle! Not sure if it was the hard west wind, the full moon, warmer water temps or what....All that mattered is we tried our best and we had a good time tryin! Until next Oct!

![]() Best way to catch tog, hands down! Nothing like a big tog running with the jig. Had one around 12lbs last season on a 3/8 oz.

![]() Must agree, can't beat the experience, big tog, light tackle with a screaming drag and much better keeper ratio, seems like the bigger fish like the jigs.

I have been invited to fish on trip tomorrow with guy from Northeast Angler show. Probably same guy you went with. Let me know if it is the same guy. Do not like fishing other guys equipment as I have confidence in my own gear. Give me a call Alex 201-741-1823 |
