Default Lake Placid, NY

Will be on vacation at Lake Placid at the end of July with a long-time fishing buddy and our wives & kids. Anybody fished there before?

Never fished there before but just got back from up that way....about a hour from there toward Champlain. I would recommend looking for one of the "smaller" lesser known lakes/ponds and trying that. It is an awesome area up that way and those small waters are loaded with Bass from what I saw.

Good luck and let us know how you do.

Mirror lake and Saranac will be a better option than Lake Placid! Every fish you can think of is within a 30 minute drive or less. Ausable river is also another Awesome option. You'll be going over it a few times on your way up. Good luck!!!

I was going to suggest Fran Betters shop for info (http://adirondackflyfishing.com/) but unfortunately while searching for it, found out he passed and the shop with him. There are probably other local shops up there, would recommend a stop in
