Farrington -- 5/24/13 afternoon
Hit Farrington in the torrential downpours the afternoon of Friday, 5/24/13. It was hilariously terrible out. Wind, driving rain, brisk as hell... But we fish on, right?
Anyhow, managed to put a respectable catch together despite the putrid conditions. Shore-hopped in my neoprenes and slicker top and landed 11 bass and 1 small slimer. All were caught slow twitching weightless senkos in the 4" & 5" varieties along down trees and lillies. Most had to be ripped from cover. Black with blue fleck and orange/watermelon with red fleck caught the majority. A few hit the black with gold fleck, too. Here's some pics. Nothing huge but a couple of nice ones. Catch em' up! |

That 3rd lmb needs to eat more.
I should get back to Farrington one of these days... used to fish it occasionally when I lived in South Brunswick but never caught anything. Then again, I got skunked almost everywhere I went back then.

Re: Farrington -- 5/24/13 afternoon
Man I love this pond in the Spring and Fall, Fishing the Lilly pads just can't be beat and have caught my PB LMB in NJ there...had to use the TM to get back in the weeds to capture, unhook, and release the fish.
Early spring this place is deadly...then the summer set in and the dead sea results, and then Fall and game on again...just saying |

Re: Farrington -- 5/24/13 afternoon
I've seen some mid-summer toads yanked from that place. My buddy had one last summer on a 5" senko that was almost 6 lbs and I pulled a few 3.5-4 lb'ers out of there. It's definitely a worthy watershed. Big ol' slimers, too.
Still yet to see one of these mysterious northerns that supposedly lurk in the waters there lol... |
