Default Keyport questions

Guys, looking for a little help here. Hoping to take some kids this Saturday and was thinking of going to keyport. My questions are 1) On American legion drive there is a prk lot, just left of the Muni ramp, is this lot for fisherman and is there any charge to park there to fish from the break wall. Was also thinking of heading over to Cliffwood beach, right where it comes out of Matawan creek, is there any parking close to that spot, i duck hunt there and i know they pile leaves right behind the beach, was wondering if that is accessible parking this time of year. And my most obvious question is out of the two, which would you recommend to take the kids, would like to see them have some action, no matter what the species. Thanks for the help guys.
I know Union beach is a pretty decent area, but with the kids, i was kind of hoping to avoid some of the crowds.

I would fish the broken concrete right before the leaf pile. Free parking just dont park past the gate which is marked no parking. Fish around the high tide with bunker chunks and you should be able to get some blues and bass. Good luck! The wall on the keyport side has a lot of snags and some areas are still under repair. Its not a spot burn if its for kids.

Yes & Yes You can find free parking in both areas, On the north side of the inlet you have a small parking lot by the flag pole or if you make a right down the end of the street people do park along the road there. In keyport by the ramp there is more then enough parking in the big lot. Good luck and there are a few places there to grab subs and drinks like Dockside Deli which is a good choice and a bait store is across the street.

The action has been real good in Keansburg. But you will have to pay for parking. Go the lot on the western side of the amusement park, but the Eastern side of the lot. Pay and park there. The clam bite has been real good for striped bass.
