Thumbs up Raritan river stripers 6/2:

Went down to Bound Brook for a few hours this morning and threw some jigs. I caught one and had a few follows and missed a real solid fish, had him on for a few seconds, the fish felt heavy and the hook pulled. Caught them in the same spot, fast to semi-fast water. Great fight, and the bright sun doesn't seem to put them down. I guess anything like trout lures will work, didn't get any white perch, kinda surprised. This fishing should up through the summer so if you get sick of trying to catch hatchery trout, you can always come down and catch stripers in the river.

Good job Andy. I love seeing pictures of those fish in the raritan. Keep up the great reports.

Nice healthy looking fish. Bigger than the ones I've been getting in the surf this year.

Thumbs up Re: Raritan river stripers 6/2:

Very nice catch Andy. Me and a couple of buddies used to use rooster tails and other assorted spinners to catch fish like that in the Rahway river. I was up at the falls yesterday morning but nothing happening.
