Default Family fishing, bear and River eyes

Took my little man out along with my father to a local lake to hit whatever would bite on crawlers. Weather was warm as was the water still in the 50’s. Little man hooked into a surprise nice bass he reeled in on his own. Giggling like crazy the whole time with his ultralight bent to the water. A nice afternoon out with 3 generations. Took to the Delaware for a quick Muskie session last week, only two hours. 3 fish up on lazy follows, and had a smaller fish head shot a bait and get no hooks. I inspected the bait after and you could see where he grabbed it. Tough break, that has been the theme the last 2 trips. I did witness a bear allll the way up in a tree the whole time and he remained there as I left. I imagine he was looking down at me in confusion as to why I was chucking those big lures around yielding no results. Made it back out yesterday on the river in between school pickup and drop off. Water was 41 and the rain had raised the river up about 6 inches and I noticed a lot less exposed rocks. I Barely fired up the big motor as I picked a head of a pool that necked down then opened up to about a 10-12 foot deep wider pool section. Managed 3 eyes taken on a jerkbait and jigs before I lost the cloud cover. All fish were released. Big cool down coming this weekend into next week.

When you rip that bait it tends to belly roll really hard. I’m thinking when I ripped it, it rolled. Then it triggered the bite and he ate from underneath before it could right itself.
