Default Miss Belmar Late 60s

I found this photo in one of my photo albums. Thought some might find it interesting. This is the Miss Belmar in the late 60s. I went on her for my first bluefishing trip as a young teen, at night, probably to the acid waters. Memories include standing shoulder-to-shoulder at the rail, chumming, tangled lines, "gaff!", and big blues in burlap bags hanging from the rail. Nothing like the big, beautiful, and fast Miss Belmar vessels today but the big blues were the same.

Great photo! This was the first partyboat that I fished on. I was probably 12 0r 13 years old. We fished for whiting and ling just outside of the inlet, early spring.

Try Mel’s Place for pics of old boats. Add “ Belmar” to your search info.

Loved the night fishing trips. An experience you can’t get playing a video game
looking through monoculars in this virtual world that’s ahead of us. Yeah it has its place but creating memories and lasting friendships is not one them. Reality requires more effort but it’s totally worth it!

In the early 60s, I was that the Miss Belmar was a converted PT boat. Originally over 80ft, it was cut down to 65f because there were added requirements for a boat > 65 ft.
