Friday aboard the Down Deep Bull, we ran another 6am Porgy trip for a nice crowd of great new and returning guys and gals. Still a swell left on the ocean made for some nice views of the breakers on a few shoals. But that didn’t stop the Porgies from an aggressive bite with Blowfish, small Bluefish and assorted other bottom dwellers from keeping the rods bent, all around the boat, filling up on what everyone came for and leaving heavy and happy with their bags of an iced fresh catch, cleaned anyway the crew desired and long before the dock lines came tight. This fishing has settled in locally and will be nice to have along with our upcoming Striped Bass trips which begin this Monday. Be prepared, there are Bass around.
