Hanging out on the D! 6/9

Launched the boat south of 78! It’s been a while! Got the call from Andre to come upstream to camp to pay him a visit. He was camping riverside with a bunch of Russians! I wasn’t sure if I could make it to his location with the boat so I said screw it! Let’s take the Deep V up the boulder field and see what happens. Haha! Made it to the Russian concentration camp easily. Thankfully the sun was at the right angle so I could see the boulders with the polarized glasses. At this point I’m dying to fish. I had to pay my friends a visit though! They always have good stuff available at camp. Hung around for a while with some lines in the water but couldn’t buy a bite. Headed back downstream after 2 hours and this is where it got sketchy. I decided to float down the river in the Deep V and I couldn’t control the boat with the engine up! Lol! I bounced off the rocks multiple times and even got stuck at one point for about 15 minutes. Unreal!!! Finally made it back to the boulder free area and started fishing again. The usual suspects were biting, dink Smallies and Channel Cats. Didn’t have the bait I wish I had but it was an enjoyable evening anyway. Tried for Stripers later in the evening but nobody was home. Didn’t see the land lovers catch any either. I probably didn’t stay late enough. Ahhhh, good afternoon/ evening on the water with some fish coming to the net. Fished again Sunday morning and had breakfast at the Russian Embassy! Fish soup was fresh off the fire and man was it delicious. Andre and his army know how to fill a stomach, that’s for damn sure! Thanks buddy!!! TIGHT LINEZ!!!

P.S. Rumor has it ALSmako got his new PB Walleye this weekend! Hope he posts it up here! Congrats man!!! The fish is BEAUTY!!!

The Striper bite was really good for me all last week but only in the early morning just at sun up. I caught a lot of them including the biggest Friday morning 38 inches 21.5lbs and not a one on bait all artificial

Heard about the good bite from last week when the water was a little high and stained. A friend of mine down in Lambertsville sent me pics of some 20 pounders from this week. That’s a little out of my range. You fishing north or south of 78? Send a PM!!!

Ahh Andy Andy …. no worries ours as well as everyone who left it there trash was with us. Never go without contractor bags, especially when camping out.


Only thing left was firewood for others who might want to enjoy the scenery as much as we do.


Only one thing I couldn't get out since sinking in mud almost to my waist and that was a stupid tire. Sorry Andy I tried.


Otherwise weather was beautiful and as always nice to be out and enjoy everything outdoors...
