Default F&W "Survey regarding potential Striped Bass Management Changes"

This was in my email inbox this morning, took about 5-10 minutes to do depending on how much detail you want to go into on the last page.

Default Controversial Questions

These are a couple of questions worth considering. They are certainly leading questions which seem to steer us in a particular direction. Given the purpose of the survey, this is quite understandable. The state is being directed to incorporate striped bass harvest changes for the 2020 season by the ASMFC. At least one public meeting will be held later this summer in July or August.

Do you support a single set of regulations that applies to party boats, charter boats, and private anglers, or would you support an option to have separate regulations for party/charter boats and private anglers? The NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife may not be able to implement separate regulations, but we are interested in your opinion on this topic.

Do you support regulations that would prohibit harvest of Striped Bass over 40 inches (this type of regulation is commonly called a "slot limit")?

Do you support the use of regulations that incorporate seasonal closures for Striped Bass (for example, for spawning, to reduce release mortality, etc.)?

Seems after taking the survey anticipated rules close to states south of us will be guidelines for what w e will get .

Said it back in January it was coming.
Now hope what ever rules they set promote a healthier fishery.
